In Loving Memory of Norman Weddle Holmes

Norman Weddle Holmes departed this life on June 13, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 11, 1950, in Essex County, Virginia, to the late Herbert and Estelle Holmes.

At an early age, Norman joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hustle, VA where he remained a member throughout his life.

Norman was a devoted father whose greatest joy was his daughter. He worked as an owner-operator truck driver for many years, earning the respect of those who knew him through his strong work ethic, determination, and dedication. When he wasn't on the road, Norman enjoyed working on cars. He had a passion for fixing and restoring vehicles, and he was always willing to lend his mechanical skills to family and friends.

Norman leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Takeisha Holmes of Essex County, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Vernell Holmes and Jean Holmes; devoted nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Norman Herbert Holmes will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2548 Hustle Road, Hustle, VA 22436.
